The Bamboo is an evergreen plant.

Evergreen means that, like many plants, bamboo,
- Either has a cycle of renewal of its foliage which exceeds the year
- And / or the ability to renew its leaves immediately after the fall of the former.
Renewal can be done leaf by leaf or by the whole foliage.

Some leaves may turn yellow in autumn and remain attached to the branches, among the leaves still green. In the spring when the young leaves come out, they replace old one, even those who remained green throughout the winter.

The P. pubescens may lose all its leaves at once in spring to re-adorn the foliage a few days later. In Asia spring is nicknamed "Autumn of bamboo".

This section describes some aspects of bamboo growing.
